Welcome To Our Blog...
This is now the official blog of the "Susquehanna Players"...
We are a homeschooling group of young actors dedicated to the art of Shakespearean drama.
The group has evolved from a literature co-op class studying "Hamlet", last Spring. Led by our fearless director, Paula Hoppel, the "Hamlet" study became an actual play, complete with sets, costumes, props and performed in the true spirit of Shakespeare.
The play was performed twice in May of last year, and was attended by about 100 people.
This year's production is going to be "MacBeth" and the kids are already hard at work studying and rehearsing for the May 13-15th performances.
This is a very tough play to study and Paula is also providing a period of study and discussion with each rehearsal. The kids learn about the period. They explore the history of the time and about the culture. There is also lively discussion about the story and the characters.
This is just the beginning for "The Susquehanna Players"
